 With his roots in jazz and hip-hop and heavily influenced by the IDM/electronica scene that emerged since the early nineties, Metonym is a true contemporary free-style beat artist. Hardly ever finishing and releasing tracks though, but constantly changing them, exchanging and filtering elements, improvising and improving, like one big evolutionary jam session that's just hard to capture. Perhaps the traditional five-minute track or album format don't fit Metonym, although he probably has enough material to easily fill three or four albums of the highest IDM-order. The past decade only a few people were there to witness and understand the beauty of his dark, yet jazzy cutting-edge electronica. At the moment Metonym is preparing a solo liveset that will see the daylight in 2011. Don't miss it.
